Reminder to vote

Remember to exercise your right to vote.  Early voting period has begun, and ends on November 2.  The general election is on November 5.  

As we have been for several years, Christ Baptist is a polling location for those in Precinct 01-45 on Election Day.  We are not an early voting site.

Operation Christmas Child Has Begun

It's time again for Operation Christmas Child! The shoebox gifts are a wonderful way to share the Good News with children around the globe.

• Shoeboxes and information on packing them are available for pick up at the OCC table in the Gathering Hall.
• Monetary donations toward shoebox gifts are another way to participate. Make your check payable to Christ Baptist Church (OCC on the memo line) and turn it in by Sunday, October 27 so that gifts can be purchased in time for the Packing Party on November 7.
• National Collection Week is November 18-25. More information will be coming about volunteer opportunities for that week.

Trunk 'N Treat!

We plan to offer a Trunk 'N Treat for children on Sunday evening, October 27, 5:00-6:30 pm. (Exploring God's Word will not meet that evening.) 

We need your creativity in decorating your trunk or van in a Fall or Biblical theme. Your design does not need to be elaborate or cost a lot of money.  At least 15 vehicles are needed to make our event more successful. Please contact Tillie Turlington as soon as possible if you would like to participate. 

We are accepting donations of large bags of individually wrapped candy in the designated bin in the Gathering Hall on or before Thursday, October 24. This candy will be provided to the volunteers with decorated trunks to pass out to the children who attend our event.  

Information Meeting

The Elders of Christ Baptist will host an information meeting in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, October 27, 7:00 pm.  Questions regarding the pastor search will be addressed, as well as the presentation of the church financial report from Donnie Powell, our church treasurer. 

Due to the later meeting start time (because of Trunk 'N Treat), please submit all questions or comments to elders@christbaptist.org prior to the meeting.

Prison Alliance - Making Disciples Behind Bars

God's Word, reaching hearts, accomplishing His purpose:  Prison Alliance is a global discipleship ministry specifically designed for people behind bars. The ministry leads people to Christ by distributing Bibles, Christian books and evangelistic tracts, then disciples and equips them to become disciple-makers through correspondence-based Bible studies.

Pray for each book stamped by Christ Baptist volunteers this Saturday, and the hearts of the prisoners who will read them.  Pray for their ongoing discipleship with men and women in prisons across the globe.

ChristKids - Exploring God's Word

All children in Kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to music, Bible lessons, Scripture memory, snacks and games each Sunday from 4:45 pm - 7:00 pm.  Our activities begin and end in the Fellowship Hall. 

Invite your friends to register and come with you; we have room for more! There is no cost for registration; however, please sign up using this link.

Disaster Relief

If you wish to contribute to providing relief to victims of Hurricane Helene, you may designate an offering to Christ Baptist Church Disaster Relief.  We will provide these funds to Baptists on Mission and Samaritan's Purse to help those needing assistance.  

Saltshakers Fall Bible Study

Our Saltshakers Ladies’ Bible Study, "Are You Ready to Meet Jesus?" has begun on Tuesdays. We are studying 1 John, James, selected Psalms and 1 & 2 Thessalonians.  Morning and evening classes are available with preschool and homeschool programs offered in the mornings. Online registration is required via our website.
